Delivery Update!

Hi Everyone,

First off, Happy Halloween!

And yes, it’s the end of October so here is our official update:

For the most part things are going well. The good news--The Undress Version 3 dresses are looking great! The production samples are looking awesome so far, and we are very happy with how the new factory has been VERY detail-oriented and judicious.

So, we’ve been waiting for an actual status before we made an official update here on Kickstarter.

DELIVERY SCHEDULE:

The factory owner met with us last Thursday, and he has been trying to get the first shipment to us in October (as per our estimated delivery timeline) but, alas, he said rushing it would compromise the quality (which we opted NOT to take that risk, of course).  So, he still needs 1-1.5 weeks, for first delivery into our warehouse. Here is the schedule so far, barring any unforeseen circumstances:

• First delivery: November 8-10
• Second delivery: ~November 17 (which should be a majority of the remaining dresses) 
• Final delivery: of any outstanding dresses (if any) should arrive the following week, ~November 24th.

Additionally, depending on how many units are delivered, the warehouse may need a few days to process all individual orders prior to shipping.

“First production” is always a constantly moving target, but overall we’re happy about the current status since we sold over 5X more dresses than even our most optimistic predictions! (Thanks to you!) We can’t tell you enough how we appreciate your patience!

SHIPPING:

We will start to deliver units and completed orders as soon as we receive the finished dresses. As we stated earlier, we will do our very best to ship earliest backers first, as long as all items in each order are in-stock at the time of shipment. It’s not a perfect system, but we will do our darndest, with the goal to get all the dresses to everyone as fast as possible. “Get them in, and send ‘em out!”, is our motto!

BURGUNDY FLORAL:

In our last email, a few of you who ordered burgundy floral may be affected by a shortage of this fabric.

As for the remainder of Burgundy fabric, we found an alternative, similar, fabric print available. For those of you who are affected, we will share this fabric and your options via direct email in the next week or so. (So, if you don’t receive that email, there is nothing you need to do). The remainder of Burgundy dresses will be added to our current production run and will fit into the schedule above, with delivery no later than November 24th-ish.

WHOLESALE - FINALLY!:

Can you believe, after 3 years The Undress has still not been available in retail?  We’re looking to change that!

So we hired our very first sales rep group (yes it took this long before we were comfortable with the right partners), and boy are we EXCITED!  Would you like to see The Undress in your local running, yoga, triathlon, cycling, store? Production Progress!

Hello Everyone!

We are very excited to fill you all in! We have had incredible progress and things are coming along very well.

We have been in LA every week last month (September) getting everything ready. We have been very busy gathering all of our fabric, trim and materials for our huge production!

Did you know, that to produce all the Version 3 dresses that a total of OVER 267,700 pieces of fabric and trim sourced worldwide and had to coordinate everything to "land" in one place in Los Angeles for the factory pickup? Insane! We had to source from over 13 vendors (fabric, trim, labels, bags etc.) to get everything needed. It was lots of work but we are happy things are progressing well!

Handing Off Production: The video above is from September, when we successfully sourced all available fabric and trim, prepped it, and handed it off to the factory and production team. We're looking forward to the dress deliveries this month! 

Delivery Time: The dresses, shawls, and straps will be delivered in batches (we requested that all colors / sizes get delivered together). First Delivery is expected to be in October, and the balance to be delivered through November. The factory is doing their best to complete and ship as many in October as we can (they know our original target date). As we receive the first units, we will fulfill complete orders with earliest backers first (not a perfect system, but we'll do our best).

So bottom line, orders should ship in October (as many as we can) through November.  We won't know the exact number shipped in October vs November until we get deeper into production this month, and we will keep you posted as the factory progresses, but things are looking good.

Damages for Burgundy Fabric: Our only actual hurdle was the Burgundy Floral Fabric. Some (NOT all) of the burgundy fabric was damaged and the delivery was short in yardage. For weeks we have tried to find extra fabric through the vendor but no luck. We are still awaiting our fabric rep to let us know what the best solution is. Again this will only affect a few Burgundy orders, and IF it affects your order we will contact you directly regarding the options (otherwise, there is nothing to you need to do.  Please do not contact us - we will contact you directly via email IF you are affected).  Our first option is to source a fabric that is very close to the original, and our production team is working on that right now, so we'll let you know!

So, overall things are looking awesome and we will be heading to our factory soon and sending you video/pics when we get there! Thank you for your support! We're super excited to get you your dresses, shawls and straps!

Hello Wonderful Backers!

We are celebrating a very special milestone! Three years ago TODAY we launched The Undress on Kickstarter for the very first time..and our lives were changed forever!

We had no idea how The Undress was going to be received (very little people knew about it before we launched) and definitely had no idea how successful it would become! THANK YOU SO MUCH for believing in us and helping our dream come true! Seriously, we would not be here and would not be the people and company we are today without your love and support.

Who would have known that a funky little dress would have been such a huge hit, and turn into a business that we love and grow daily.

We are SO GRATEFUL to every single one of you and appreciate you so much for supporting our company. The past three years, though challenging, have been absolutely phenomenal in so many ways. Whooey!

Here’s an update for The Undress Version 3!

Check out our short video above, since we've been KICKING BOOTY over the last 4 weeks!  Non-stop work on this production!  We've already been in Los Angeles "sourcing" the last two weeks, and we're going back TOMORROW for more! Ahhhhhh....!

We have ordered ALL FABRIC and have received almost 85% of it! (Some of it is "special order" and we are awaiting arrival, more below)  Our current fabric is already at our Cutting Service in Los Angeles, ready to be cut into dresses!

This is a huge project! Over the past month we have sourced:

• OVER 25,000 yards of fabric!
• 9000 Ball Cord Locks!
• 9000 Flat Cord Locks (for the back)!
• 9000 Plastic Stays!
• 14000 3.5 Inch Covered Plastic Stays!
• 1500 yards of padded lining!
• 6000 Yards of ½ Inch Elastic!
• 6000 Yards of 1 Inch Elastic!
• 15,000 + Woven Labels!
• 9000 Care Labels!
• 10,000 Bags + Hangtags!

GOOD NEWS:  ALL KICKSTARTER BACKERS WILL GET THE COLORS/PRINTS THEY ORDERED!

It wasn’t easy, but….

We purchased ALL available fabric from suppliers, but they did not have enough stock on Blue Tribal, Black Floral, Royal Blue Sport, & Black Sport… (Sad Face)

BUT…. WE SOLVED IT! Over the past weeks we have negotiated to make CUSTOM orders from respective fabric factories to get the balance of these fabrics in this month! We were forced to buy a huge minimum, but we decided to invest in these fabrics to ensure YOU got the dresses of your choice!

This was a huge ordeal, but - YES, every Kickstarter Backer (YOU) should get exactly what was ordered, including ADD-ONS!!! (High Five!)

FINAL PRODUCTION SAMPLES: Before final production, it is good practice to make the final alterations to the pattern, and make physical samples to ensure they are correct. So, we just received the 3 samples, in all 3 Sizes A, B, and C, to check accuracy!

Also, we needed to get a sample from the Factory itself, and this sample has been complete, and is being sent to us for review and approval this week. We can’t wait to see it!

DELIVERY SCHEDULE: For Kickstarter orders, we are pushing for late October completion date as originally planned. Our current factories deal in high-volume so they have so far stated that they are comfortable with the production deadlines needed. We will be updating you on the status as we move forward.  The true speed test will be to see how fast the first 500 units take to produce!  We should know in a few weeks!

 

HUGE MILESTONE! The Undress Version 3 campaign has continued on Indiegogo HERE, and guess what? We hit over $615,000!!!!  Our original backers for Version 1 should know the significance of this!  We just broke our original record set in 2014 with our Version 1 dress! Wow! We’re so humbled and appreciative of the support we’ve received worldwide!
