Hi Everyone!
I wanted to share something a bit more personal if you don't mind. Here's a little photo of my 2 year old son, Drake, with his gift to me for Fathers Day!
No, he's not named after Drake the rapper, lol.
It's a combination of my name and my wifes, "Rach" (which is short for Rachelle). See, what I did there? :)
Did you know that YOU have contributed to his life, and his future? Let me explain...
Being a father has been the most rewarding experience in my life. Many of you may not know, but we found out we were pregnant with Drake when we were still inventing the original Version 1 of The Undress in 2014.
I remember distinctly how excited and nervous I was when I found out, as my responsibilities as a provider and future father just grew 10 x fold.
As an entrepreneur, I knew the stakes just got higher.
I prayed that The Undress was going to be a success, as we NEEDED it to be since we already invested so much time, money, and effort in hopes that a simple dress on Kickstarter could "change the world".
When we hit our goal of $22K on the original campaign, we knew we found something special. But when your love and support helped us hit $615K (still blows my mind), we KNEW we found something GREAT.
And, my inspiration shifted: It wasn't "about me" anymore. If The Undress was successful, I knew it would provide a better future for my new son.
In January, 2015, during our first production (which was very distressing as you can probably remember), we were working NON-STOP trying to source factories, fabric, and more to make 10,000 dresses. I remember having to peel myself away from work to be with my wife who was in labor one-month premature.
I was literally working on Version 1 production at The Undress hours before he was born.
Luckily our team, April, Marat, Justine, Nikki, and more had my back, so I was able to focus on my son and my wife.
Thank God, he was born healthy and perfect. And, 2 years later, life has been more colorful, amazing, and beautiful than I ever imagined. He is SUCH a treasure, and we are BLESSED to have him in our lives.
And, we strive DAY TO DAY working on this "little business that could" in hopes that it becomes global, and the investment and risks truly pay off.
So, I say with the sincerest gratitude: THANK YOU for supporting our dream at The Undress. Your pledges mean A LOT to us, and our families.
